Loud Music, Noise
Ordinance
In an ongoing effort to maintain quality of life and protect the rights of residents, the City of Santa Ana has a loud and raucous noise ordinance . . with the additional benefit of preserving and enhancing all property values.
It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow the emission or transmission of any loud or raucous noise from sound making or sound amplifying device under their control.
The ordinance is in force at all times of the day and night, at any public or private location. Violation of this ordinance can result in a fine of up to $1,000 and, or, up to six months of jail time.

"Zero Tolerance Zone!"
Many of our (yours too!) neighbors like to enjoy our great, nostalgic and friendly neighborhood with children out playing, taking strolls with families, exercising, etc.
Park Santiago home owners will not tolerate speeding and running stop signs. Enforcement officers will (and do) appear without warning. If you are running chronically late, try leaving a few minutes earlier . . . ONLY a few minutes, that's it! Residents, sight unseen (and others, in plain sight!), are using video cameras to record offenses (perfectly legal on public streets).
This is intended to be a courteous, friendly notice. It is not our goal to see anyone cited, but, nor will we allow residents, especially
children,
to feel unsafe, to fell unsafe on their streets
Northeast Santa Ana Gets
New District Commander
The Santa Ana Police Department announced that Northeast Santa Ana (that includes Park Santiago, Floral Park, West Floral Park and a very wide swath of other areas!) is getting a new Commander. Commander James Schnabl will be replacing Commander Jeff Owens who has been effectively overseeing our district's quality of life.
Commander Owens assumed new responsibilities on June 1, 2009. We would like to thank Cmdr. Jeff Owens for his vital interaction, energy, tenacity and outstanding leadership. The Santa Ana Police Department under Cmdr. Owens has been amazingly effective and very proactive in helping the Northeast District of Santa Ana drastically curb adverse "situations" and "issues". As with any other community there are still issues that need to be addressed but Park Santiago’s quality of life is far better as a result of the Santa Ana Police Department’s efforts. A sincere "thanks" to Commander Owens and best wishes while, at the same time, we would like to again extend a hearty welcome to Commander Schnabl.
We look forward to continued, successful interaction between the Santa Ana Police Department and Park Santiago Residents under the watch of Commander Schnabl.
Credit Alert!
Credit and debit card information has been used to access ATM machines by depositing small amounts of funds and then withdrawing large amounts of cash. Purportedly, these fraudulent transactions have resulted in card holders losing thousands of dollars. If you suspect unauthorized activity, contact your financial institution immediately.
Suggestion: if you are required to use your card at the counter inside a gas station, use cash instead or simply go to another gas station where the outside pump ATMs are operational.

Street Improvement
Many Park Santiago residents have noticed the poor "repair" to the bricks or "pavers" crossing Santiago, just south of 20th Street.
This unsightly repair, consisting of black asphalt material where the pavers are missing or are destroyed, was started long before our current economic conditions surfaced. According to many residents, these bricks are part of the overall appearance of our Park Santiago community. At this point they should either be completely removed or replaced.
